How it worksDay 1: two students share one kite. Then one kite each.
Duration: 3 hrs per lesson, in a group of maximum 2 people. On the first day it is 2 students, 1 kite and 1 instructor: you take turns on the kite, and the time you are not flying you are watching, listening and learning. From the second or third day, once both students have enough control of the kite to move safely and autonomously, we give one kite per person — still in the same group, with the same instructor.
If there is no other student wanting a group lesson at that time, you get a private lesson for the same price, 2 hrs instead of 3. Or you can directly book a private class for the same price.
Lesson 1 is the discovery: how to set up the kite, how to fly it (about 70% of the lesson), how to launch and land it, how to generate power and how to relaunch it from the water. Lessons 2 and 3 take you through walking with the kite, body-dragging and body-dragging upwind, then the water start. By the end of a five-lesson package you are riding your first metres on the board on your own, with the skills to handle your kite safely — the full IKO beginner path.
Book a single lesson to try the sport, or a package of three or five lessons. Coming as a pair costs the same per person as coming alone — you simply get more time on the water together.
The full kitesurfing set: kite, bar, board, harness, helmet, wetsuit, life jacket and shoes — the latest material from Duotone, North, F-One, Mystic and ION — plus insurance. You schedule your lessons yourself, whenever you like, depending on the wind.
Lessons run on our main spot at Thong Sala: a flat lagoon of white sand protected by a coral reef, clear water at around 30 °C all year, 0.5 to 1.5 m deep depending on the tide — you can stand up everywhere, which makes learning fast and safe. We are the only school in this area, so there is plenty of free space. Wind is 10 to 15 knots, sometimes 20–25 and more: south-east and side-on from mid-December to April, south-west from May to October (with boat sessions in deeper water when the tide is low). From November to mid-January the school moves to the north spot at Chaloklum, Wattana Resort, with on-shore to side-on north-east wind.

During every on-water lesson, our students use a radio communication system, allowing the instructor to provide instant feedback, guidance and safety instructions in real time — even when you’re riding away from the beach.
No need to stop and come back to shore for corrections. You hear your instructor directly while you ride, helping you learn faster, correct mistakes immediately and progress with more confidence.
IKO · Certification standards
Every lesson follows the official IKO progression. These are the skills your instructor signs off, letter by letter, on your IKO card — a record recognised by schools and rental centres in more than 40 countries. Group and private lessons take you from Level 1 to Level 3; improver, hydrofoil and strapless sessions build on Levels 3 and 4.
Level 1
First contact with the kite: setup, safety systems and flying on land.
Level 2
Into the water: body-drags, self-rescue and your first waterstarts.
Level 3
Riding on your own: upwind, transitions, toeside and self-launch.
Level 4
Jumps, grabs, rescues and the theory of an experienced rider — the level required for the IKO instructor courses.
