We’re on Thong Sala Beach, inside Slumber Party Beach Club, about two kilometres from the main pier.
From mid-November to mid-December/mid-January we move to Wattana Resort, Chaloklum, on the north side of the island.
Seasons, experience, equipment, water and wind, the answers before you write to us.
Mid-December/January to mid-April/May is the main season, on Thong Sala with a thermal south-east wind — usually the most regular and often the strongest of the year. From mid-November to mid-December/January the school moves north to Chaloklum, on a north-east wind. From May to October we ride at The Pier on a west wind: less settled, with more rain and thunderstorms, but some very windy days.
None at all. Group and private lessons are built for complete beginners — about 70% of the first lesson is spent flying the kite before you ever touch a board.
Yes. Every lesson includes the full set — kite, bar, board, harness, helmet, wetsuit, life jacket and shoes. In group lessons each rider has their own kite.
Between 0.5 and 1.5 metres depending on the tide, over a flat lagoon protected by a reef. The water sits at around 30°C all year.
10 to 15 knots on an average day, with 20 to 25+ knot days in the strongest months, February and March, then November.
Six partner venues, all within walking distance of the school or right on a spot: Slumber Party Beach Club at the school base (dorm, private rooms and tents around ฿1,500), V-View Beach Resort (2-star) and Phangan Hometown 50 m away, Sabaii Bay Resort (3-star, ฿1,500–2,500), Summer Luxury Beach Resort & Spa (4-star, ฿3,000–5,000) on the south coast, and Wattana Resort on the north spot at Chaloklum for the November–January season. Rates vary with the season and around Full Moon Party dates — see the Kite & Stay page.
