Thong Sala Beach

Thong Sala Beach is the main base of Accrokite Koh Phangan, hosted at Slumber Party Beach Club & Resort. A flat spot in a lagoon of white sand protected by a coral reef, with clear 30 °C water all year. We are the only school in this area, so there is plenty of free space.

This is where we ride for the longest stretch of the year, from mid-December/mid-January to mid-April/mid-May. The wind blows from the South-East, side-on, the safest direction for beginners and advanced riders alike. It is mainly a thermal wind, so it is usually the most regular of the year, and often the strongest.

The depth runs between 0.5 m and 1.5 m depending on the tide, so you can stand up almost everywhere on the spot, which makes teaching easy. Wind is usually 10 to 15 knots, sometimes 20 to 25 and more.

We have a purpose-built rental shop right on the beach, with chill-out areas, hammocks and a sandbar that suits beginners and pro riders alike.
