Ban Tai Beach

Ban Tai is a wide, shallow lagoon on the south coast of the island, a short drive from the Thong Sala school base.

We ride it according to wind and tide. When conditions are better here than in front of the school, the team moves the session to Ban Tai for the day. The lagoon stays shallow over a long distance, so riders can stand almost everywhere, which is why beginners are often sent here first.

The season runs from mid-December/January to June, when the wind comes from the South-East. Lessons start from the beach, and the tide sets the hours: mornings and late afternoons, when the water comes up in the lagoon.

There is no permanent shop on this beach: the equipment comes with the team from the school. Ban Tai Pier, on the same stretch of coast, is where our wakeboarding and wakesurfing sessions leave from.
